A Facebook Memory from 2014

Mine eyes have seen the glory and the power of Big Oil.
It is trampling out the farmlands and poisoning the soil.
It has loosed the rabid rantings, brought the Tea folks to a boil.
Oil’s wealth is marching on.

(Chorus)
Glory, glory Exxon-Mobil,
Glory glory Shell and Suncor,
Glory glory British Petrol.
Oil’s wealth is marching on.

We can see Big Oil supporting arch conservatives all round.
Leaning on the media should real journalists be found.
Fouling deep blue oceans and tearing up the ground.
Oil’s power marches on.

Chorus

The first Oil Trusts were banished by a U.S. President,
So head offices and profits far away offshore were sent.
Big Oil became quite stateless, all taxes circumvent.
Oil’s greed continues on.

Chorus

Now in league with Rockefeller and with J.P. Morgan Chase,
Managed by the Rothschilds bringing Barclay’s just in case,
Big Oil rules deep behind the scenes, putting governments in place.
Oil’s grip is very strong.

Chorus

When a maverick land attempts to take hold of its great resource,
Big Oil’s “western” governments send forth overwhelming force.
Foreign leaders are first vilified, then put to death of course.
Oil’s morals are all gone.

Chorus

Today in Canada we see the Petro-State arise,
Stephen Harper and his minions march in lock-step. No surprise!
Tearing down democracy so corporatism will thrive.
Oil’s wealth is marching on.

Chorus

Alberta is the beacon Big Oil points to in the west.
On paper it’s successful, but needs food banks nonetheless.
Two right wing parties help send all the cash to the U.S.
Democracy is gone.

Chorus
